American-born classical guitarist, composer and author, Anthony Glise has just been elected to the board of an on-going media development project of the French national music organization, DOMAINE MUSIQUE.

Domaine Musique, in conjunction with the National French Film Commission, (CRRAV), are the two major underwriters for international feature films and documentaries shot in France.

Domaine Musique has chosen several new internationally-recognized personalities this year to join the assembly in the categories of:
1) composers,
2) major film directors, and,
3) film documentary directors.

Glise has accepted a post on the council as one of the only two traditional classical music composers on the assembly and is the only American-born composer ever invited to join the council.

The goal of the assembly is to facilitate direct contact between producers, directors and composers and to help negotiate better relations between French composers and the film industry.

The seat of the assembly is in Lille, Northern France. Lille, which is the fifth largest city in France, was chosen as the “Cultural Capitol of Europe” by the Congress of the European Community in 2004. This region was host to an international concert exchange between the US and France presenting the St. Joseph Chamber Chorale, directed by Frank Thomas of Missouri Western State University (St. Joseph, Missouri, USA) in 2005 featuring selected compositions of Mr. Glise.

Given the fact that the city of Lille has such an active, internationally-recognized cultural scene, Domaine Musique is developing this commission to attract a large portion of the European film industry into Northern France where the artistic quality has proven just as high, but more economically viable than in many other regions of Europe.
