"Glise on Guitar"® first went up on satellite in October, 1993. The series was funded by NWMS University, and by generous grants from LaBella String Company (cf. "Endorsements") and by Willis Music Company. Without their kind support this series would have never achieved its tremendous international recognition.

"Glise on Guitar"

The series was downlinked by hundreds of radio stations across the US, and was picked up by AFN (Armed Forces Network) who distributed the series throughout Europe, the Far-East, and Central and South America, establishing "Glise on Guitar"® as the largest internationally-syndicated guitar program in the world.

Each program highlights one theme and one guest. The series features interviews that Glise made with some of the leading guitarists and guitar-related musicians in the world, including:

Sir Neville Marriner (Director, Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields), London

Pepe Romero (guitarist) at the Salzburg Music Festival, Austria

Manuel Baruecco (guitarist) New York, USA

Dániel Benkö (guitarist) Budapest, Hungary

Christopher Parkening (guitarist) California, USA

Sharon Isben (Director of Guitar Studies, Julliard School of Music) New York, USA

Carlo Barone (Director, Accademia degli Studi, "l'Ottocento") Stressa, Italy

Paul O'Dette (lutenist, faculty, Eastman School of Music) Rochester, New York, USA

Daniel Pinkham (composer), Cambridge, USA

Zemlin/Weiss Duo (guitar duo) New York, USA

Mssr. Robert Vidal (Director, Radio France Guitar Competition) Paris, France etc.

A subsequent series of "Glise on Guitar"® is currently being planned for satellite uplink in the fall of 2002. Contact your local classical radio station (NPR, university or commercial) for information. Digital copies of the previous shows are available to radio stations for post-downlink broadcast. If you would like to have "Glise on Guitar"® aired in your area, please contact your local station and have them contact the university below.
